How To Make Lace Trimmed Jean Shorts

A perfectly faded pair of my jean shorts were a little too short for wearing outside of my backyard but I wanted to get some more wear out of them. So I followed these simple steps and added a good inch to the length making them a little more appropriate for wearing out in public ;)

MATERIALS

-jean shorts
-lace
-pins
-scissors
-thread
-sewing machine

STEP 1

Iron the frayed edge of your shorts so it's easy to work with. Lay them on a flat surface and begin pinning your lace to the inside of the short, starting at the inside leg seam. Continue pinning the lace around the leg opening

STEP 2

Once the lace is pinned in place you can begin sewing it into place. Start stitching 2" after the inside leg seam and stop sewing 2" before the same seam.

STEP 3

Pin the last 4" of lace to the jeans so that you can match up and pin the two ends of the lace together. Sew the lace ends together at the pin mark. Trim the excess lace.

STEP 4

Finish sewing the last 4" of lace to the jeans.

STEP 5

Repeat on the other leg and wear in style :)
